Running is considered one of the easiest ways to stay healthy and a source of inspiration and freedom for many in the community. Sushma Singh, based in New Delhi, eagerly anticipates her runs and enjoys challenging herself each time.
“I started running 2-3 km and then steadily increased my distance last year. Running makes me feel super strong and gives me the confidence to handle life’s challenges easily,” she said.
Sushma returned to the track after a gap of over 20 years when she ran a 10K in 2022. “It felt amazing when I completed the 10K in under 60 minutes. I was on cloud nine. On that day, I decided to aim for more,” she shared in a press release from the Delhi Half Marathon.
However, questions arose about whether Sushma would be able to return to running as she wanted after donating her kidney to her husband earlier in the year.
