AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi expressed outrage over a special CBI court’s verdict on the Babri mosque demolition case.
Owaisi criticised the special CBI court’s verdict acquitting all 32 accused in the case including L.K. Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, and Uma Bharti.
He told The Daily Guardian, “This judgement satisfies the collective consciousness of Hindutva and its followers and its ideology. I have been feeling humiliated on 6th December 1992 and am still feeling that humiliation. The court has not admitted the evidence. The Supreme Court had said that it was a calculated act of destroying a place of worship. Was the demolition of Babri Masjid an act of God or magic? Were idols kept inside by magic? Were the locks opened using magic when Rajiv Gandhi was prime minister?”
He asked the courts why no evidence of journalists and eyewitnesses were admitted. He termed the verdict as a black day for the Indian judiciary. Even though some demolish the same structures in Kashi and Mathura, they will also get the clean chit.
Owaisi predicted that Lal Krishna Advani would get Bharat Ratna soon for this act. He accused once again that Advani did Rathyatra to mobilise the mob towards Ayodhya, Uma Bharti and Murali Manohar Joshi gave provocative speeches on the spot and distributed sweets while the mosque was being demolished.
He asked whether they would not come under provocation? He says If CBI does not appeal, he along with the Muslim Personal Law board will appeal in the higher courts. Owaisi believes that it’s a pre-planned demolition.
Asaduddin Owaisi recalled the comments of activists and then BJP leaders that Uma Bharati gave a call ‘Ek dhakka aur do, Babri Masjid tod do?’
He said, “How did you (the court) come to this conclusion today? What message do you want to send? The message is: mass violence pays and justice was denied. On the day the Masjid was demolished, I felt helpless and humiliated. It is the same feeling today. We did not get justice.”
