Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a jubilant welcome in the holy city of Ayodhya, marked by a shower of flowers as he embarked on a lap of honour en route to inaugurate the redeveloped Ayodhya railway station. The city, adorned with flowers, murals, and thematic ornamental columns in anticipation of the upcoming consecration of the Ram Temple in January, witnessed heightened excitement among the residents as PM Modi’s visit unfolded.

Scheduled to inaugurate the redeveloped Ayodhya railway station and Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, Ayodhya Dham Airport, PM Modi’s arrival comes just weeks before the grand consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple on January 22. The visit encompasses a series of significant events, including the inauguration of new Amrit Bharat and Vande Bharat trains, the dedication of various railway projects to the nation, and the unveiling of the newly constructed Ayodhya airport.

As part of the festivities, Prime Minister Modi is set to participate in a public program at around 1 pm, during which he will inaugurate, dedicate to the nation, and lay the foundation stone for multiple development projects, collectively valued at more than Rs 15,000 crore in the state. These projects, contributing to the development of Ayodhya and its surrounding areas, as well as initiatives related to other parts of Uttar Pradesh, signify a comprehensive effort towards regional growth and enhancement.

The state-of-the-art Ayodhya airport, developed in Phase 1 at a cost exceeding Rs 1450 crore, boasts a terminal building covering 6500 sqm, designed to serve approximately 10 lakh passengers annually. Adorned with the temple architecture of the upcoming Shri Ram Mandir, the airport’s interiors feature local art, paintings, and murals depicting the life of Bhagwan Shri Ram. The airport, equipped with sustainability features such as an insulated roofing system, LED lighting, rainwater harvesting, and a solar power plant, is poised to enhance connectivity, fostering growth in tourism, business activities, and employment opportunities in the region.

Simultaneously, the redeveloped Ayodhya Railway Station, known as Ayodhya Dham Junction Railway Station, developed at a cost surpassing Rs 240 crore, represents a modern marvel. The three-storey railway station building, equipped with elevators, escalators, food plazas, and childcare facilities, aligns with the Prime Minister’s vision to develop modern infrastructure in Ayodhya while preserving its historical and cultural significance.

PM Modi’s comprehensive vision for Ayodhya unfolds with the inauguration of the new airport, redeveloped railway station, widened roads, and various civic infrastructure projects. The foundation stones for additional projects will contribute to the city’s beautification and overall enhancement, underscoring the government’s commitment to holistic development in this revered temple town.
