The Ayodhya Ram Mandir will commemorate the first anniversary of its consecration (‘pran-pratishtha’) ceremony on January 11, 2025, as confirmed by Champat Rai, the secretary general of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust.
Rai emphasized that the date conforms to Hindu traditions and provided updates regarding the progress of the temple complex. Ongoing construction is underway for 18 more temples dedicated to figures such as Dashavatar, Sheshavatar, Nishadraj, Shabari, Ahalya, and Saint Tulsidas. “The work is progressing swiftly and on track,” Rai noted.
Responding to misunderstandings about the temple’s ‘prasad,’ Rai explained, “For the past 30 years, no prasad has been brought in from outside for the Ram temple premises. The prasad distributed is prepared within the temple complex and designed to remain fresh for prolonged periods. ” He mentioned that offerings like ‘chhappan bhog’ are only offered to Ram Lalla after rigorous evaluations.
The first consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla occurred on January 22, 2024, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi supervising the important event. Other prominent attendees included RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Governor Anandiben Patel, and Trust Chairman Mahant Nritya Gopal Das.
Prime Minister Modi expressed his sentiments on X, stating, “The remarkable moment of the consecration of Shri Ram Lalla in Ayodhya Dham is going to leave everyone emotional. It is my immense fortune to be a part of this divine programme. Jai Siya Ram! ”
