The Ministry of Culture in association with The National Gallery of Modern Arts, The Archaeological Survey of India, The Lalit Kala Academy, and The National Council of Science Museums has organized India’s maiden biennale 2023, at one of the majestic historical monuments, The Red Fort. The grand event got inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Keeping up with the success of events like the International Museum Expo, Festival of Libraries held in the recent past, this biennale attempts to create a prominent global cultural platform which is at par with the cultural events held in Venice, Dubai and other foreign nations.
India Art, Architecture and Design Biennale is an earnest endeavor on the part of curators, artists, designers and architects to illuminate and carry forward India’s opulent diverse, art, architecture and design ahead.
Artist and art curator, Priyanka Banerjee who hails from the tribal state of Jharkhand has made Delhi her home. Currently, she is a part of the group exhibition titled “Aujasya” where three of her artworks have been displayed. One of her artworks is based on the timeless art and architecture of Rajasthan while the other two are portraits based on the people of Rajasthan. Her artworks have been executed with acrylic on canvas and watercolor on paper. The artist considers this event as one of its kind as it witnesses the participation of many creative talents under one roof to celebrate the country’s rich cultural legacy.
