During a meeting with the delegation of 1,158 assistant professors and librarians, who had called on the chief minister to express their gratitude after the verdict of the High Court, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government has made every effort to give relief to all sections of society. The delegation profusely thanked the chief minister for making every effort to bail them out from the legal tangle. They also bemoaned that the successive previous governments in the state had given a cold shoulder to them, but the Bhagwant Mann- led government had extended a helping hand to them.
The chief minister said that the state government has evolved a foolproof mechanism for the entire recruitment process due to which not even a single appointment out of more than 45,000 have been challenged so far in any court. Mann said that it is a proud moment for the government of Punjab that these youth have been given government jobs completely based on merit. He said that it is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction for him that all the youth have been selected for these posts purely on the basis of their eligibility and intelligence.
Meanwhile, a member of the librarian front thanked the chief minister for supporting their cause in a whole-hearted manner. She said that this is the real change that is being witnessed in government colleges as recruitment in these colleges have been done after a gap of more than two decades. She said that they will ever remain indebted to the chief minister for this noble and path breaking initiative.
Assistant Professor Dr Sohel said that the recruitment process was started in 2021, adding that the state government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann safeguarded their interests.
He said that this is a historic moment for them and their families as the state government has stood by them in this hour of crisis. He said that they are thankful to the chief minister for making them an integral part of the state government.
