In the Hailakandi district on Friday, Assam Police recovered a sizable amount of Burmese supari, or areca nut, and detained two individuals. The police team from the Lala police station in the Hailakandi district and the Lakhinagar police outpost conducted a search operation at Saydul Islam Barbhuiya’s residence on Friday in the Pachim Kitterbond Part 1 area. The operation was based on information provided by sources.
Police also apprehended two persons and they were identified as Abul Kalam (48) of Karimganj district and Saydul Islam Barbhuiya (28).
