The monsoon rains created dangerous floods, affecting both people and animals. Many animals were trapped or in danger. A six-week-old elephant calf got separated from its mother while trying to cross the fast river near Chirang.
In a video shared online, you can see the baby elephant struggling in the water. A brave man saw the calf in trouble and jumped in to help. With help from others, he used a rope to pull the calf to safety. The rescue involved the man and several people who worked together to get the calf out of the water. Once on land, the baby elephant was wrapped in a warm rug to calm it down. Sadly, they couldn’t find its mother.
