The Indian contingent’s unrivaled run in shooting at the present Asian Games in Hangzhou continues on Friday, as 17-year-old Palak won a gold medal and 18-year-old Esha Singh won a silver medal in the 10m air pistol women’s solo final.
With an individual score of 242.1 points, Palak not only won gold, but also broke the Asian Games record in her category, surpassing China’s mark from 2018.

Esha won the silver with 239.7 points, continuing her incredible run as a shooter in Hangzhou with her fourth medal of these games.

With this, India’s total number of shooting medals in Hangzhou has risen to 17.
India now has 30 medals from the 2018 Asian Games, including eight gold, 11 silver, and 11 bronze.
Earlier in the day, the men’s trio of Swapnil Kusal, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, and Akhil Sheoran won gold in the 50 m rifle men’s 3P event.
Team India won gold with a total of 1769 points. The silver medal was won with 1763 points, and the bronze medal was won with 1748 points by South Korea.
