Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has come down heavily on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Amit Shah alleging that they have been behind toppling democratically-elected governments, which is against the principles of Sardar Patel who always united the country.

Gehlot said: “I don’t pass any personal comments on them and rather I talk about them with dignity. But they are dividing the nation.”

Gehlot was talking to journalists before meeting Congress interim chief Sonia Gandhi. He alleged that Amit Shah, Gajendra Singh and Dharmendra Pradhan tried to topple his government in Rajasthan.

Gehlot said that the country is going in a wrong direction due to dangerous politics in the name of Hindu and Muslim. He alleged that the BJP is promoting violence for its political goals. “They promote hate and violence in society where there should always be harmony,” he said. “Their nationalism and Hindutva is only for winning elections,” Gehlot added.

The CM said that it is the duty of the government to stop violence but what is happening is just the opposite. “I have heard that the PM told his MPs to do exactly what Kriori Mal Meena is doing so that Gehlot could be challenged in his home town,” said the CM.

He added that the BJP’s condition is not good in Rajasthan, with half a dozen leaders being contenders for the CM post.

“Leader of Opposition Gulab Chand Kataria seems to be mentally disturbed as he speaks objectionably against Sita Mata,” Gehlot said.

What he said about Maharana Pratap has angered the state, Gehlot added. “Hindus are angry after whatever he said about Sita and Ravana,” the CM said.

On Prashant Kishor, Gehlot said that he has become a brand in the country. He has tremendous experience in politics, and he works as a professional agency, Gehlot said. Kishor is trying to unite the opposition, Gehlot added.
