As the Covid-19 cases in Telangana are on a steady decrease with less than 300 cases reported in Hyderabad, Telangana Health Minister Etela Rajendar said people should take all the precautions and follow the Covid-19 guidelines for the upcoming festive seasons like Batukamma and Dasara where people in thousands celebrate it on the streets.

Bathukamma is the biggest festival in Telangana. He reminded that of late, Kerala witnessed a decline in Covid-19 cases but due to Onam Festival another spike is seen, that kind of situation should not be there in Telangana.

According to Rajender, any festival is for the welfare of the people who seek blessings of goddesses for the common good. But the people should not become spreaders of Covid-19 during the festivity.

The Health Minister said, “Everyone must improve the immunity power and take care of themselves. When the vaccine will be invented, we will supply it to each household in the state. The private hospitals should not deny treatment to any patients. If they do so or violate any fee structure set up by the government of Telangana, stringent action will be taken. We will strengthen the Aarogyasri scheme to include more diseases as per the needs. The state’s Arogyasree is far better than the union government’s scheme Ayushman Bharat.

“ The coming weeks coincide with the season of festivals and further ease of restrictions, as part of Unlock 5.0 guidelines could potentially pave the way for spread of the disease in urban centres of the state especially Hyderabad. Mass gatherings should be avoided.
