Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is all set to visit Punjab on Monday. Keeping the 2022 Assembly elections in the state, his visit gains importance. Sources said that Kerjriwal would, through his visit, try to bring an order within the party, which has been in an utter mess following the debacle in the last Assembly polls. Several big leaders and MLAs of the party left the AAP.

In the 2017 Assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party emerged as the main Opposition party in Punjab, placing the Akali Dal in the third space. But its failure to wrest power in the state pushed the party into a self-annihilation mode.

Kejriwal will be in Amritsar during his one-day visit. He will start his tour by paying obeisance at the Golden Temple, after which he will go to the Durgiana temple and attend an important meeting of workers.

On his visit, Kejriwal wrote on Twitter: “Punjab wants change. Only Aam Aadmi Party has hope. See you tomorrow in Amritsar.”
