The Delhi Capital Badminton Association hosted The Delhi State Ranking Prize Money Badminton Tournament from 23rd May to 29th May 2022 in Delhi. The Delhi Capital Badminton Association is the Parent Governing Body for Badminton in the State of Delhi. The association has been promoting Badminton in Delhi, conducting tournaments to encourage & spot talent from the grass root level. The finals of the championship took place at The Sports Complex, University of Delhi, North Campus, and Delhi. The chief guest of the final day and the award ceremony was Shri Kiren Rijiju, Minister of Law & Justice, Government of India, and the Guest of Honour was Prof. Yogesh Singh, Vice-Chancellor, University of Delhi.

More than 1600 badminton players in various categories participated in the Delhi State Ranking Prize Money Badminton Championship 2022, which began on May 23. There were two categories in the tournament. Pool A includes players aged under 13, 15, and 17, and Pool B under 19 to 75+. All Pool B matches were played from 23 May to 25 May and all Pool A matches started on 25 May. It is the first time in Delhi that any internationally recognized software has been used in any tournament.

Arjun Rehani and Deepshikha Singh emerged victorious in the men’s and women’s singles categories at the Delhi State Ranking Badminton Championship. In under 19, girls singles, Isobel Kuriyan shocked top seed Ishita Negi 21-15 21-15 to emerge champion, while S Ginpaul saw off ninth seed Sataksh Singh 21-13 16-21 21-6 to finish at the top in u-19 boys singles. The prize money for the tournament has been increased by 50% from Rs 5 lakhs to Rs 7.5 lakhs this year.
