As part of the ongoing campaign against corruption, a helper working in the office of the Public Health Engineering Department in the Sohna sub-division was arrested red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 6,500 by the Gurugram team of the Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau. Providing information about this, a spokesperson for the Anti-Corruption Bureau stated that based on received information, the bureau’s team laid a trap to apprehend the accused and succeeded in catching him in the act.

The accused helper, Naveen Kumar, had demanded a bribe from the department’s Executive Engineer (EXEN) in exchange for processing a new license for a contractor. Following the complaint, a plan was devised to apprehend the accused, and after verifying the facts, he was arrested red-handed while accepting the bribe of Rs. 6,500. The entire operation was conducted with complete transparency in the presence of witnesses.

In this case, a complaint has been registered against the accused at the Anti-Corruption Bureau Police Station in Gurugram, and he has been arrested.

The case is currently under investigation by the Anti-Corruption Bureau team, which is gathering all necessary evidence. The spokesperson for the Bureau appealed to the general public, urging them to immediately report any instances where government officials or employees demand bribes in exchange for performing official duties.
