Be it efficient working style or outspoken opinion on any issue, Haryana’s Health Minister Anil Vij remains in the discussions. For some time, he has been at loggerheads with senior officials over a string of issues. Disputes over several issues have come to fore between Anil Vij and senior IPS and IAS officers leading to ruckus in political corridors . Presently, he continues to remain in talks once again over not signing the files of the health department he holds the portfolio of. All the files of the Health Department are pending since the first week of this month. Vij has made it clear stating that he will not sign the files of the Health Department as the departmental meetings are being organized without his consent or bringing the same to his notice. Now the situation is so worsen that a sizable chunk of departmental files are pending in his office.
In fact, the issue surfaced after a review meeting of the Health Department was held under the Chief Principal Secretary to CM, RK Khullar at the beginning of the first week of this month without putting the same into Anil Vij’s knowledge which annoyed him . Vij was not given any information regarding this. After the matter came to notice, Anil Vij had lodged a strong objection regarding this and had made it clear that since he holds the portfolio of the health ministry, holding any meeting of his department without his consent is not fair.
Meanwhile, it has also come to light that Anil Vij has repeatedly informed the MLAs and officials visiting his office that he refrained from signing any file of the Health Department. If anyone has any work pending in the health department, then he or she is required to contact only the officer taking the meeting of their department. Initially his statement was taken lightly but again he made it clear that the entire matter needs to be taken seriously. Anil Vij, who holds the portfolio of Home Minister also said that i have not been signing the files of the Health Department for a long time. When, as a minister, I have the health department then I should be informed about the departmental meeting and developments but contrary to this, things remain unchanged.
Anil Vij is also continuously cornering senior officials of the health department. In a public program held on Wednesday, in the presence of senior officers, he said that there are some officers in the department who are creating hurdles in work as the files are pending for four months. Some officers are deliberately withholding the file for personal gain. Close ones of Vij are of the opinion that in case the matter does not get sorted out, he may come up with a decision in the future. Although at the moment it is not clear what kind of decision he may take. Meanwhile, 372 police investigation officers in the police department who delayed investigation and had lax working style were also suspended. Anil Vij has been continuously taking a strong stance against police officers and employees with negligent working style.
