The Special Staff of Shahdara district police cracked down on a sex racket posing as a spa and massage center in Anand Vihar on Friday. Two individuals, including the spa manager and a woman, were apprehended on the spot.
Acting on a tip-off regarding illicit activities at «SPA NOW,» situated at Ashish Tower, Karkarduma Community Centre Market, Anand Vihar, the police deployed an undercover officer to the spa.
The decoy customer was offered adult entertainment services after paying Rs 1,000 for a massage and an additional Rs 1,000 for the illicit services. The undercover officer signaled the police team with a missed call, leading to a raid on the premises where the manager and the woman were arrested.
A case was filed under relevant sections of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act at Anand Vihar police station.
The spa›s license, issued in the name of absent Lokesh Jain during the raid, prompted the police to seek court approval for sealing the premises and inform the sub-divisional magistrate for license cancellation. The investigation is ongoing.
The spa manager, identified as Madan Kumar, 30, had a prior involvement in a similar case in 2022 at the same police station. The woman, whose identity remains undisclosed, was an employee at the spa.
Police efforts are underway to trace the spa owner and other women linked to the racket.
