Amit Shah on Tuesday (June 11) assumed charge as Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation in New Delhi. With a calm yet resolute demeanor, Shah, who has been holding the portfolio of Home Minister since 2019, took charge for his second consecutive term in the national capital.
As he arrived at the ministry’s office in North Block, Shah was greeted warmly by Ministers of State (Home), Nityanand Rai and Bandi Sanjay Kumar, along with Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla. Earlier, in a thoughtful and heartfelt message on his official X account, Shah expressed his gratitude to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the renewed trust bestowed upon him. He acknowledged the significance of his roles as Minister of Home Affairs and Minister of Cooperation in the newly formed government, following the grand and solemn oath-taking ceremony on Sunday evening.

Speaking about his role in the Home Ministry, Shah said, “In Modi 3.0, the MHA will continue to accelerate and strengthen security initiatives and introduce new approaches to realize PM Modi’s vision of a secure Bharat.” On empowering farmers and villages through the Ministry of Cooperation, Shah said, “Under the astute leadership of Modi Ji, the Ministry of Cooperation will remain committed to empowering farmers and villages with the vision of ‘Sahakaar Se Samriddhi’.”
Amit Shah, who is Prime Minister Modi’s trusted confidante, secured a remarkable victory in Gujarat’s Gandhinagar by a staggering margin of 744,716 votes in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Shah garnered an impressive 1,010,972 votes, triumphing over Congress’ Sonal Patel, who received 266,256 votes.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi assumed office for his third consecutive term in the South Block office in the national capital on Monday (June 10). With a sense of determination and commitment, PM Modi began his new term by signing his first official document, authorizing the release of the 17th installment of the PM Kisan Nidhi. This initiative is set to benefit 9.3 crore farmers, distributing nearly Rs 20,000 crores.
