Union Home Minister Amit Shah delivered a fiery speech on Friday in Khunti, Jharkhand, slamming the Congress for questioning India’s sovereignty over Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Shah emphatically stated that every inch of PoK belongs to India and no external force can lay claim to it.
Addressing a gathering at an election rally, Shah criticized remarks made by Congress leaders Mani Shankar Aiyar and Farooq Abdullah, asserting that their statements undermined India’s territorial integrity. He highlighted the unanimous resolution passed in Parliament affirming PoK as an integral part of India, reaffirming the BJP’s unwavering stance on the issue.
Shah also aimed for the Congress’s track record, accusing the party of perpetuating corruption and hindering development during its tenure. He cited instances of alleged scams, including land, mining, and MNREGA scams, attributing them to the JMM-led alliance in Jharkhand.
Referring to recent incidents of financial irregularities involving political figures in Jharkhand, Shah pledged to reclaim misappropriated funds and restore them to the people. He accused the JMM and Congress of engaging in divisive “vote-bank politics” and obstructing initiatives like the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
Highlighting the BJP’s efforts in combating Maoist insurgency and promoting tribal welfare, Shah credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ushering in a new era of development in Jharkhand. He emphasized the government’s commitment to honouring tribal icons like Birsa Munda and enhancing welfare measures for tribal communities.
Shah concluded his address by urging voters to support BJP candidate and Union Minister Arjun Munda in the upcoming elections, underscoring the party’s vision for inclusive growth and national security.
The rally in Khunti served as a platform for Shah to reaffirm the BJP’s core principles and rally support ahead of the crucial polls on May 13.
