Adapted from Shashank Bharatiya’s acclaimed Hindi novel of the same name, “Dehati Ladke” encapsulates Rajat’s arduous struggle to honor his commitments to his family and community, even amidst the alluring temptations of city existence. Shine Pandey, portraying Rajat, encounters a spectrum of experiences encompassing romance, university life, and companionship.
Discussing his character, Shine Pandey highlighted Rajat’s origins in a small Uttar Pradesh town, Gonda, and his migration to Lucknow to prepare for the UPSC examination, aspiring to become an IAS officer. “Rajat is burdened with immense expectations from his family and village. His determination to achieve his dreams clashes with the unpredictable nature of life,” stated Pandey.
The narrative unfurls as Rajat immerses himself in college life, forming friendships with Shashank, Yuvan, and encountering pivotal figures like Prerna, Chhaya, and Prashant Bhaiya. The complexities of this transition and the clash between Rajat’s past and present shape his evolution, leading to internal turmoil depicted vividly through introspective dialogues within the series.
