Following the Ellenabad by-poll held on October 30, everyone is eyeing on the upcoming result of the election which is to be declared today. Political experts are of the opinion that the most awaited by-poll’s result is likely to lead to a new political scenario in the state.
Regarding the declaration of the results, electoral officials informed that a string number of required arrangements have been made for a smooth counting process and anyone can get the fresh information about the counting on the voter helpline. One of the officials of the state Election Commission said that the result will be declared before the afternoon.
Before the election took place, the infighting among the state president Kumari Seleja and the state president Bhupender Singh Hooda was the talk town which is likely to affect the forthcoming result. On being asked about the upcoming result of the by-election, Kumari Seleja, state party president said that we had put our best to win the battle and rest is to the declaration of the result.
Further, the Congress fought the by poll with collective effort. While pertaining to infighting among several leaders’ different factions she said that there is nothing like this the party. It came to surface that few of the party leaders were reported not extending full support to the party contest Pawan Beniwal during concassing in the bypoll which led to new discussion about the widened rift in the party. Regarding this, she accepted that few of such issues came to her notice and the party is investigating such complaints.
Another aspect which remained in the centre of the talks ahead of the declaration of the resignation is that the BJP and the main opposite party Congress had fielded contestants Pawan Beniwal and Govid Kanda which had joined the concerned parties following their resignation from other parties. Apart from the aforesaid, the INLD (Indian National Lok Dal) and the Congress continue to accuse the ruling faction and the BJP-JJP led government of misuse of the machinery as well as the resources made to win the segment. In wake of this, a string of complaints also had been filed to the Election Commission after the completion of the voting.
While reacting to the possibility of victory and defeat, Chief Minister Manohar Lal said in a light mood that the result is to be declared on Monday so let’s wait for it. In this series, it is learnt that supporters of the Abhay Chautal whose resignation necessitated the need of by-poll, continue to claim a huge victory.
Few of the party leaders said on anonymity that the INLD is going to emerge as a winner in the segment and in wake of this, the party has come up with a plan to make advance arrangements ahead of the possible victory to celebrate this. Thus, it is evident from the ongoing scenario that all of the contestants along with their parties are eagerly waiting for the result and the uncertainty will disappear following the declaration of the result.
