The coming days in the Supreme Court of India shall be very important. All eyes will be on the Apex Judiciary.
Now whether it is the matter of Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification or the hearing on petitions against the removal of Article 370 from Kashmir. Also, what to say about Uniform Civil Code and eligibility or disqualification of Shiv Sena and NCP MLAs in Maharashtra. All these matters are such that the eyes of every common and vvip’s are fixed.
First of all, let’s talk about the case of Rahul Gandhi. While addressing a public meeting in Kolar, Karnataka in 2019, Rahul Gandhi had said that why Modi is with the names of all the thieves. Apart from others, Rahul Gandhi also named Prime Minister Narendra Modi. After this statement of Rahul Gandhi, cases were registered against him in the courts of Mumbai, Patna and Surat of Gujarat.
The lower court of Surat had given Rahul Gandhi a chance to express regret for his statement, but Rahul Gandhi refused to do so. On March 23, the Surat court sentenced Rahul Gandhi to a maximum of two years imprisonment. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla dissolved his Parliament membership after the judgement of Surat Court.
The matter of suspending the sentence reached the Gujarat High Court from the Sessions Court and Rahul Gandhi was shocked there too.
Now the Congress party can file a petition in the Supreme Court under Article 136. There is curiosity in all sections of society whether Rahul Gandhi’s sentence will be upheld or suspended, whether his membership will be reinstated
or not.
