Alka Lamba, the President of All India Mahila Congress, came to Punjab for the first time to address the Punjab Mahila Congress State Executive Meeting. This significant event marks a pivotal moment in the empowerment and advancement of women within the political landscape of Punjab.

Joined by Punjab Mahila Congress President, Gursharan Kaur Randhawa, Alka Lamba engaged in a productive session with Punjab’s women congress workers and office bearers. The aim was to diligently address their concerns and issues, fostering a robust framework for the functioning of Mahila Congress in Punjab, especially in the lead-up to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The meet also helped discuss the implementation of ‘Nari Nyay’, an initiative by All India Mahila Congress.

The gathering emphasized the pivotal roles of office bearers and party workers, underlining their importance in shaping the future trajectory of the party. Ahead of the forthcoming 1st Punjab State Convention by the All India Congress Committee, the roles of these individuals were highlighted, ensuring a cohesive and strategic approach towards electoral success.

Mahila Congress continues to champion the cause of women in politics, tirelessly working towards the betterment of both the party and the broader community. The commitment to uplift women’s representation and participation remains steadfast, serving as a beacon of progress and inclusivity within the political arena.

Alka Lamba ji, while addressing those in attendance said – “Under the current BJP rule, the role of women continues to reduce and our rights are being taken away from us. It is essential that we fight for our rights. ‘Nari Nyay’ is essential to raise the voice of those who are being silenced in this country. With the power and privilege that we have, it is our duty to become the voice of our fellow sisters and daughters.”

Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, the President of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee added – “I salute the efforts of all our office bearers and workers who are a part of the Mahila Congress. Your efforts help our message reach the most essential part of our society, the women of India. I will support the Mahila Congress wherever needed and will continue to rely on you all for helping Congress achieve success in the coming elections.”

Punjab Mahila Congress President Gursharan Kaur Randhawa thanked all those in attendance saying – “I thank the adept and able workforce of the Punjab Mahila Congress. Their hardwork and efforts help our work bear fruit. We will continue to raise the voice of the women of our state and nation in order for our rights to be fulfilled.”
