Aline Krauter of Germany, the overnight leader in the Women’s Indian Open, held her nerve to claim her first Ladies European Tour title at the DLF Golf and Country Club. She posted consistent rounds of 69-68-68-68 to finish at 15-under 273. Krauter faced stiff competition from fellow rookie Sara Kjellker of Sweden, who finished in second place at 10-under with rounds of 73-66-68-71. Both Krauter and Kjellker were rookies on the tour, with Krauter also making her debut on the LPGA.
Krauter’s victory marked the second consecutive German win at the Hero Women’s Indian Open, following Olivia Cowan’s triumph the previous year. Marcel Siem, another German, had also won the men’s Hero Indian Open at the same course earlier that year.
Diksha Dagar, aiming to move to the top of the Order of Merit, finished third. She posted five birdies on the front nine but struggled on the back, ending with a total of 8-under 280.
Avani Prashanth, an Indian amateur, tied for fifth place, while Gaurika Bishnoi finished tied for eighth. The tournament showcased Indian talent, with 10 players making the cut, all finishing T-36 or better. Denmark’s Emily Kristine Pedersen secured her first Ladies European Tour victory.Among the Indians, Diksha Dagar secured third place, expressing her gratitude to her supporters and her determination to work on her game and weaknesses.
Avani Prashanth, an amateur, earned the amateur winner’s salver, finishing tied fifth overall. Amandeep Drall and Vani Kapoor had credible finishes at T-16, while Nishtha Madan, Ridhima Dilawari, Khushi Khanijau, Neha Tripathi, and amateur Vidhatri Urs also had commendable showings.
In the final showdown, Pedersen faced stiff competition from Johanna Gustavsson, who trailed by just one shot through six holes. However, a strong front nine performance by Pedersen, marked by three consecutive birdies, helped her secure a comfortable lead, ultimately winning the tournament by five strokes at the DLF Golf and Country Club.
