Actress Alia Bhatt has commenced filming for her upcoming movie «Jigra,» which marks her first collaboration with filmmaker Vasan Bala. Recently honored with the National Award for Best Actress, Bhatt took to Instagram to share the exciting news, along with pictures from the film›s set. In her caption, she expressed enthusiasm for the journey ahead, stating, «& we›re rolling… Day one of bringing our ‹Jigra› to life… stay tuned as we share a piece of our hearts… hoping for a successful journey ahead… love, Team Jigra.»
“Jigra,” produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Alia Bhatt’s Eternal Sunshine Productions, is scheduled for release on 27 September, 2024. Dharma Productions also shared the news of the project’s commencement on Instagram with the caption, “And the shoot for #Jigra begins—Day 1!” This film marks Alia Bhatt’s second production venture through Eternal Sunshine Productions, following 2022’s “Darlings,” which was released on Netflix. Her last appearance was in the Netflix film “Heart of Stone,” her Hollywood debut. The upcoming project lists Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Bhatt, and Somen Mishra as producers.
In the initial photo, Alia is depicted gazing at a screen displaying the title “Jigra.” Some of the images capture the actress preparing in her makeup room, and one of the snapshots features her sister, Shaheen Bhatt. In response to Alia’s post, Sonam Kapoor congratulated her with a red heart emoji, and Zoya Akhtar expressed her joy with a series of cheerful emojis.
