Actor Ali Fazal has been cast in the upcoming Hollywood film “Afghan Dreamers,” which is being directed by Bill Guttentag, who has won two Oscars for his short films “You Don’t Have to Die” and “Twin Towers,” following his roles in “Death on the Nile” and “Kandahar.”
The action-packed movie “Kandahar,” which is scheduled for release in 2023, will star Gerard Butler and the actor, according to news reports from only last year. His subsequent appearance will be in “Afghan Dreamers.” The “Fukrey” actor is slated to play one of the leads in the motion picture based on the motivational true tale of the all-girl Afghan robotics team.
Afghan Dreamers’ 50-day shoot recently got underway in Morocco, with the majority of the movie being filmed in Budapest and Morocco.
The movie is based on a real-life programme that Afghan tech entrepreneur Roya Mahboob created in 2017 to encourage young women to pursue careers in science and technology despite their homeland’s strongly patriarchal culture.
The video sheds light on the nation’s political landscape, which is often chaotic and perilous. The narrative narrates the tale of the Afghan girls’ team, who competed internationally, received media attention on a worldwide scale, and even met top world leaders in politics.
Nikohl Boosheri, known for his work on “The Bold Type,” will play Roya.
Ali received a great deal of praise for his performance in the Hollywood film “Death on the Nile.” On February 11, 2022, a global release of the movie, which also starred Gal Gadot, Kenneth Branagh, Armie Hammer, Tom Bateman, Letitia Wright, Annette Bening, Russell Brand, Emma Mackey, and Rose Leslie, took place.
When describing the “Afghan Dreamers,” Ali stated: “Thrilled and humbled to be exchanging notes with Bill, whose body of work is flawless, and to be under his direction. I’m delighted to be a part of the film rendition of Afghan Dreamers since I believe it to be a narrative that needs to be told.”
Laura Overdeck, Samudrika Arora, and Bill Guttentag are directing the movie.
