In a significant breakthrough, the Delhi Police Special Cell, in coordination with police forces from Jharkhand, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh, has dismantled an Al-Qaeda-inspired terror module. The operation led to the arrest of six individuals and the detention of eight suspects.
The module, reportedly headed by Dr. Ishtiyaq from Ranchi, was allegedly focused on establishing a ‘Khilafat’ and carrying out terrorist activities across India. According to police sources, the group had undergone indoctrination and weapons training at various locations.
The six individuals were apprehended in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, while undergoing weapons training. Additionally, eight more suspects were detained from Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh for further questioning.
Multiple raids were conducted at 15 locations in Ranchi, one in Rajasthan, and another in Aligarh, UP. During the raids, law enforcement officials seized an array of weapons and explosives, including an AK-47 rifle, a .38-bore revolver, an air rifle, an iron elbow pipe, a hand grenade, and six live AK-47 cartridges.
The operation has successfully foiled a potential terrorist plot, with ongoing interrogations expected to yield more details and possible further arrests. Investigations are continuing to determine the full extent of the module’s plans and activities.
