A ‘shayari’ used by Samajwadi Party head Akhilesh Yadav to mock Cheif Minister Yogi Adityanath in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly emerged in the Lok Sabha today.
Mr Yadav, now a MP from UP’s Kannauj, while speaking for Motion of Thanks to President’s address thanked people UP for Lok Sabha Poll results focusing on Faizabad Seat. Ayodhya, which was in main focus for Lok Sabha Elections is a part of Faizabad Seat. Samajwadi Party’s Awadhesh Prasad won the seat by a margin of over 50,000 votes.
During the Uttar Pradesh Assembly’s budget session, Mr Yadav stated that Mr Adityanath monitored all aspects of the Ram Temple’s inauguration but did not receive a red carpet welcome because the whole focus was on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He then recited a shayari, which meant that the person who organized the occasion received no attention. “Huzoor e ala khamosh baithe isi gham mein, mehfil lut le gaya koi jab sajai thi humne,” he had said.
MP of Kannauj revived the shayari today and took a swipe at the BJP for losing the Faizabad seat despite the Ram Temple in its election campaign.
The ‘shayari’ attrated loud cheers from the Opposition as Mr Yadav went on to say that the poll result in Faizabad showed the “political understanding of the mature Indian voter”.
