Late Friday night, air raid sirens echoed across central Israel as two drones from Lebanon infiltrated Israeli airspace, prompting swift action from the Israeli military. According to an official statement, the military successfully intercepted one of the drones, while both were monitored from the moment they crossed the Lebanese border.
While no casualties were reported, a building in Herzliya sustained damage as a result of the drone activity. The Israeli military and police confirmed the damage in separate statements. The interception of the drone minimized further threats, though tensions remain high.
As of now, there has been no immediate comment from Hezbollah, the Iranian-backed militant group based in Lebanon. The organization has been involved in escalating conflict with Israel, particularly since its support for Hamas in the Gaza war a year ago.
