After urinating on a co-passenger on an onboard flight of Air India from New York to Delhi the accused Shankar Mishra switched off his mobile phone and went incommunicado.

“After registering the FIR into the matter, we started tracking his location which was found in Bengaluru. However, his phone was switched off when we tried to contact him,” the police officer said.

Earlier in the day the accused Shankar Mishra was arrested from Bengaluru. On 26 November the incident took place on an Air India flight from John F Kennedy international airport in New York to Delhi the flight was on its way.

Meanwhile, on 4 January a complaint was filed by the woman to Air India. “Mishra in the IGIA case has been arrested from Bengaluru by a Delhi Police team. He has been brought to Delhi and further investigation into the case is in progress,” Ravi Singh, DCP IGI Airport, Delhi Police.

Moreover, Shankar was staying in Bengaluru at his relative house and on 3 January Mishra’s phone was switched off and the taxi was used by Mishra to travel to Bangalore.

However, on Friday night in Mysore Shankar Mishra’s location was found and on that Delhi Police reached there, and later Mishra was arrested.
