An Air force jawan at Maharajpura Air force station in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior district shot himself on Monday with his service rifle.
Meanwhile, a resident of Punjab the air force jawan has been identified as Jasvant Singh. At Maharajpura Air Force Station in the district, he was posted as a sentry (guard).
Moreover, when another sentry went to resume his duty the incident came to light. On the stairs of the watchtower, Jasvant was lying.
“The Maharajpura police on Monday received information that an Air force jawan had committed suicide while on duty on Sunday night. The police reached the spot and found the jawan lying dead on the stairs, with his service rifle resting on his chest. The post-mortem has been conducted and an investigation is underway to ascertain why the soldier took his own life,” Ravi Bhadauria City Superintendent of Police said.
However, talking about the incident SP said the family members of Jawan have been informed.
“No suicide note was recovered from the spot,’ Bhaduria said.
Furthermore, an investigation into the matter is underway.
