Ahead of the upcoming white-ball series against West Indies, India opener KL Rahul tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly informed about KL Rahul after the Apex Council meeting of the Board in Mumbai.
Three One Day International matches are to be played between India and West Indies from July 22 to July 27. After this, the 5-match T20 series will start on 29 July and end on 7 August. Rahul recently underwent surgery and started his training at the NCA in Bengaluru.
After which KL Rahul was also named in the T20 squad against the West Indies and he had to give a fitness test in a few days. But he has already been hit by Corona and may be ruled out of the upcoming T20 series against West Indies.
Senior players like Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah have already been rested from the West Indies tour. In such a situation, it is bad news for KL Rahul to be corona positive.
