Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Gujarat on Tuesday ahead of bypolls to eight Assembly seats in the state. Shah is expected to stay in the state till October 17.

He may review poll preparations of his party. Amit Shah will also perform ‘pooja-aarti’ with his family in ‘Bahuchar Mataji’ temple at Mansa in his hometown.

Amit Shah has a lot of faith in Mansa’s Bahuchar Mataji, so he visits this temple on the occasion of Navratri. Only in the year 2011, he could not come to visit Mataji during Navratri. The temple has also been renovated by Amit Shah’s family. Earlier, Shah was given a warm welcome by the party as State unit chief CR Patil welcomed him at Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel airport.
