After getting information from Sampat Nehra, a close associate of gangster Lawrence Vishnoi, about the supply of foreign weapons from Delhi to the gang, the Anti Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of the police headquarters is busy in breaking the network of the inter-state gang.
In the first phase of breaking the network of Lawrence Gang in the state, AGTF has started arresting the arms suppliers. Due to this, AGTF on Sunday arrested two arms smugglers of the Lawrence Gang from the Khandela police station area of Sikar and recovered two Giga pistols, magazines, five cartridges and a car from their possession.
Gangster Sampat Nehra, close to Lawrence, was arrested by Churu Police on February 4 from Bathinda Jail in Punjab based on a production warrant. Gangster Nehra was sent back to Bathinda jail on Sunday after being interrogated by a joint team of Churu Police, AGTF and National Investigation Agency (NIA). Nehra has given many shocking information regarding running the gang from jail itself.
During interrogation, it was revealed that the Lawrence gang has henchmen active in every big city of the state, who have committed more than fifty murders at the behest of Lawrence and Nehra. Gangster Nehra told the police that Jigan pistols and other foreign weapons were supplied from Delhi to his gang’s territory.
In the much-discussed Gogamedi murder case of the state, the killers had also used a Jigan pistol. Lawrence’s special henchman Ashok Meghwal alias Sameer Khan had given pistols to the killers a day before the incident.
After killing three people including Sri Karni Sena’s National President Gogamedi by firing rapid bullets from both the foreign pistols, the killers had dumped the weapons in a field on Ajmer Road, with which Ashok Meghwal had absconded, who has been arrested by the police till date. However, the police had arrested Meghwal’s girlfriend Pooja Saini from the Pratap Nagar area here.
Nehra also revealed the plan to murder the history-sheeter of Shrimadhopur
Gangster Sapant Nehra had given information about supplying weapons for the gang from Delhi to Lawrence’s operatives in the Khandela area of Sikar.
On this, the team of AGTF Inspector General Prafulla Kumar, SP Karan Sharma and Additional Superintendent of Police Vidya Prakash raided Khandal on Sunday and arrested Lawrence gang henchmen, Boduram Gurjar and Bunty Gurjar, while Sardar Gurjar and Rajkumar Gurjar absconded.
Police recovered two foreign pistols, a magazine and five cartridges from the two arrested henchmen.
