Cabinet meetings are typically held in the state capital of Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow. To take the Government directly to the people, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has planned to hold cabinet meetings in different cities of the state. The idea came from the South Block of New Delhi. As there will be a series of sectoral meetings for the upcoming G-20 summit in Uttar Pradesh, the CM plans to develop the cities’ urban facilities to a standard for the dignitaries of developed and developing countries. If the cabinet meeting is held in different cities, local urban bodies will be on tenterhooks to keep the city neat and clean. Whenever the CM visits a city other than the capital, Lucknow, district authorities try to make the roads clear and a cleanliness drive is undertaken. The G-20 summit preparation has come as a boon to the citizens of small towns, when they will see clean suburbs in real terms.
