Acid attack survivors reveal their painful tales

Some of the acid attack survivors were also honoured for their bravery and guts. The day-long programme was dedicated to women and saluting their spirit.

Daulat Bi Khan
Daulat Bi Khan, the makeup artist, was seated on a sofa in 2010, around 13 years ago, when her family members threw acid on her face out of rage. Daulat was left with a damaged visage and a broken spirit after an argument she had with her sister and brother-in-law. Together with her, two of her younger sisters and her niece were also attacked, and became the victim of this attack.
Despite the terrifying event that fundamentally changed her life, Daulat remained unshaken and made the decision to fight for people who had gone through similar experiences, other acid attack survivors. One of the accused was imprisoned for 10 years. Two accused freed from jail after three months

Ashu, another acid attack survivor, claims that discomfort followed the assault. In India, beauty is significant. I was gorgeous. But, my family was quite supportive before I met Daulat Ji. She helped me a lot. I appreciate her. I got plastic surgery recently. Currently I am busy in modelling. I filed a PIL in Supreme Court because despite promises, I did not receive free treatment.

Another survival of acid attack unveiled her sad story. She said that I underwent plastic surgery recently. Luckily I surviving an acid assault, and Daulat Bi assisted me a lot. I am grateful to her.
