Abhay Chautala has publicly voiced his support for Dilbag Singh, a former MLA from Yamunanagar and his relative, currently incarcerated on money laundering allegations. INLD leader Abhay Chautala has declared his candidacy for the upcoming assembly elections, stating in Yamunanagar that the government is using the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for wrongful purposes.

He said that if a fake case has been registered, it does not mean that the candidates will be changed. He said that our leaders or workers are not afraid of such raids. People are with us and INLD will form the government in Haryana. Dilabagh Singh has been MLA from Yamunanagar from 2009 to 2014. He is considered a strong leader in the district, he has a big business related to transport and mining.

Dilbagh Singh is 48 years old. He contested his first election in 2009. It is being told that his ancestors used to do wrestling. INLD leader Abhay Chautala is his close friend. Dilbagh’s daughter is married to Abhay Chautala’s son Arjun Chautala. Dilbagh Singh had also contested the 2019 assembly elections, but he lost the election. He stood second in the 2019 elections. In the 2009 elections, he had declared his assets to be around Rs 9.23 crore. Dilbagh Singh studied BA from Kurukshetra University in the year 1994.

Former Yamunanagar MLA Dilbagh Singh has appealed to the High Court to cancel the arrest order by the Enforcement Directorate. According to the petition, the High Court should direct him to be released from custody immediately, because keeping him in custody is not appropriate for law and justice. Since the petitioner is a former MLA, the hearing roster in this case has been assigned to a division bench of the High Court.
A case has been registered against 13 people including former MLA Dilbag Singh on charges of illegal mining, violation of NGT rules and fraud in Yamunanagar. The police have taken this action on the complaint of ED Joint Director Navneet Aggarwal. This is the third FIR against former MLA Dilbag Singh in the illegal mining case.
