In the Parliamentary Affairs Committee’s (PAC) meeting held here on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Aam Aadmi Party National Convener Arvind Kejriwal at his residence in Delhi, the party State President Dr. Sushil Gupta was declared the candidate of I.N.D.I.A. Alliance for the Kurukshetra Lok Sabha seat of Haryana. Divulging more details in this regard, Dr. Sandeep Pathak who holds the portfolio of the National General Secretary (Organization) of AAP said that the party has decided to field him from the seat and the AAP will pave its wave towards victory in Haryana from the hold land of religious Kurukshetra city.
It is noteworthy that After he bid a farewell to the Congress in 2013, he had joined the AAP and was fielded as the Rajay Sabha Member by the party in 2018. Sushil Gupta resigned from Congress on 28 November 2013. At that time, Delhi Congress President Ajay Maken had tweeted asking him the reason for leaving the party and in a reaction to this, he replied that he was promised the Rajya Sabha seat then. Further, Kumar Vishwas has strongly opposed the party for fielding him in polls. Prior to this, he was a Rajya Sabha member for a period of six year.
While being a Congressman, he was fielded by the Congress from Motinagar assembly constituency of Delhi in 2013 against the AAP candidate Kuldeep Singh Channa then and failed to win the battle. Apart from being in active politics, He also runs educational institutions by the name of Ganga International School and Maharaja Agrasen Hospital in Delhi and Haryana.
Before becoming active in politics, Sushil Gupta was a famous educationist and social worker.t is learnt that apart from Sushil Gupta, two of the AAP leaders including party’s senior vice president Anurag Dhanda and Balbir Saini from Kurukshetra, the name of party leader in Kurukshetra Balbir Saini. However, in the PAC meeting held in Delhi, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal along with other officials approved the name of Dr. Sushil Gupta. After becoming the Lok Sabha candidate from Kurukshetra. Expressing his gratitude to the high command and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, he said that since the AAP and the Congress have forged an alliance,both of the parties will contest the polls jointly.
