Arvind Kejriwal, the National Convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Delhi’s Chief Minister, is set to visit Chandigarh on January 21. However, ahead of Kejriwal’s arrival, the BJP in Chandigarh has successfully attracted AAP leader Lakhbir Singh Billu to their party, potentially delivering a significant blow to the AAP, especially with the upcoming Chandigarh Mayor elections.

Accompanied by Punjab’s Chief Minister, Bhagwant Mann, Kejriwal plans to address a public meeting in Chandigarh to gather feedback from party workers and leaders in preparation for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The AAP’s Chandigarh chapter has initiated preparations for Kejriwal’s visit. They’ve organized a meeting with party workers led by Chandigarh’s Deputy In-charge, SS Ahluwalia, to strategize for Kejriwal’s arrival. However, the specific venue for Kejriwal’s public rally is yet to be finalized. Once the venue is selected, the party intends to seek permission from the Chandigarh administration.

Recently, during a public meeting in Punjab, Kejriwal asserted his claim to the Chandigarh Lok Sabha seat. He affirmed his intention to contest elections across all seats in Punjab, including the Chandigarh Lok Sabha seat, with the determination to emerge victorious. In preparation for this, he plans to engage with workers on January 21, spreading the AAP’s achievements by interacting with the residents of Chandigarh door-to-door.
