IT’S a pity that Fire at The Park, which I can confidently describe as Delhi-NCR’s first Modern Indian restaurant that opened a little ahead of its time, is still shut, although the hotel, strategically located where Sansad Marg meets Connaught Place, has been busy throughout lockdown housing and serving the city’s Covid Warriors. Fire evokes memories of meals I wouldn’t forget in a hurry, so you can imagine how my disappointment melted into joy when I learnt that a part of its menu would be on offer at Mist, the allday restaurant at The Park.

To celebrate the development, the hotel’s newly appointed Executive Chef Amit Wadhera (who I expect to do wonders at Fire) and F&B Director Harsv Manu Kaushik came home carrying earthen handis packed with Chettinad Chicken Biryani and Munagakaya Mamsam (the incredibly delicious mutton slow-cooked with drumsticks) paired with Malabar Parotta. I would definitely ask for both on my next visit to The Park, although I’d be torn badly between Fire’s Paan Rasmalai and the iconic Rum Ball of Flury’s for dessert.
