Flag hoisting orders a reflection of insecurity on the part of BJP: Mehbooba

The recent order by some bureaucrats in Kashmir valley for the hoisting of national flags on all the government buildings is a reflection of insecurity on the part of BJP, said Mehbooba Mufti while talking to reporters at her Gupkar residence on Wednesday.

She questioned why such orders are not being given in any other part of the country and said that they feel insecure in Kashmir. Now they think that the flag hoisting is an instrument to conquer.

In the recent past, the J&K administration has been under attack for many orders including the one in one of the districts of Kashmir telling people that they will not get the ration for April if they do not come with a vaccination certificate.

However, the order was rolled back after the huge outcry on social media. Another order was rolled back in the Budgam district when the district authorities asked the chief education officer to go for a door-to-door campaign with teachers and headmasters for getting people vaccinated.

Similarly in many villages, panches and sarpanches alleged that they were told they will not get the monthly remuneration if they will not motivate people to get vaccinated in their villages.

This order was issued in the Ganderbal district, wherein the government offices were told to hoist the national flag atop of their buildings which they did.

Reacting to this order, Mehbooba Mufti said that this is all cosmetic and cannot change the ground realities in Kashmir. When she was asked by a reporter why her colleagues are deserting her, she said that they were in the party when they were made Ministers, MLA’s and sent to RS. However, they should now answer whether they are leaving PDP because of some pressure or otherwise.

Meanwhile, former Chief Minister and sitting MP from Srinagar Dr Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday tested positive again to Covid-19 in SKIMS Soura while the doctors said that he is showing all signs of improvement.
