YSRCP GRAND MARCH TODAY TO SAVE VIZAG STEEL PLANT

YSR Congress Party will undertake a 25-km long padayatra on Saturday in Visakhapatnam to protest against the privatisation of the steel plant in the city. The march is a part of the struggle to protect the steel plant which had been set up after the sacrifice of 32 lives.

“We opposed the privatisation of the steel plant in the Parliament as well as outside it. In the past, the late Rajasekhara Reddy as the opposition leader had opposed the privatisation of 50 public sector undertakings by Chandrababu Naidu. Now, Chief Minister Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy is opposing it on the same lines,” stated YSRCP MP and parliamentary party chief Vijay Sai Reddy.

YSRCP MPs and MLAs have already taken part in a dharna in front of the steel plant to express solidarity with 13 trade unions and Jagan will convene a meeting on the burning issue with the trade unions shortly, he revealed. The Andhra CM has agreed to adopt a resolution in the Assembly opposing the Centre’s decision and written a letter to PM Modi on the need to save the steel plant, Reddy added.
