A video from Canada showed once-pristine snow-covered landscape littered with garbage bags which triggered an outrage on social media. Even though the video didn’t prove the origin of this mess, many of its viewers attributed it to Indian students who have been littering and created debates that ran hot on online forums. The clip, that originated on TikTok, re-posted on X, wrote over it, “Indian international students destroying communities across Canada.
The video captures a beautiful snow-covered region littered with scattered garbage, and a voice is heard narrating the scene while expressing annoyance. The man claimed that “international students” caused the mess and that such students should be deported for their actions.

Social Media Reactions
The video has elicited varied reactions on X. A user simply wrote, “Same everywhere. My neighbors sold their house; now 10 students live there, and it’s a mess.” Another commented, “What used to have such beautiful scenery was all destroyed.” A third lamented, “I moved from northern Ontario— a few hours from the Sault— this is everywhere. We have become a slum.” Others drew comparisons, with one writing, “Surprised? Take one look at Delhi.”
This incident follows other allegations targeting Indian nationals in Canada. A Canadian citizen recently claimed on X that Indian women were coming to the country to give birth, allegedly exploiting the healthcare system to secure citizenship for their children.
He shared a personal account saying that during his niece’s delivery, a nurse allegedly told her that the maternity ward was “full of foreign Indian women.” According to him, “Canadian hospitals won’t turn anybody away, so they accept all these foreign Indian women, completely filling up the many wards.”. Of course, I think they receive a bill for the birth because they don’t receive Canadian health care, but what are they going to do with it? They fly back into India with their baby after having used our healthcare system. When their Indian baby grows up, they’ll come to Canada as a Canadian citizen, sponsor their parents and siblings, and bring the whole family over.
These incidents and statements fueled the continued debates regarding behavior and perceived impact of Indian nationals on Canada.
