Severe AQI in Delhi-NCR Makes Gurugram’s Luxury Flats Vanish in Smog | Watch

As both Delhi and Gurugram are classified as having “severe” air pollution, the quality of the air has deteriorated to dangerous levels. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the air quality index (AQI) in Delhi and Gurugram was 494 and 469, respectively. These values are more than 26 times higher than the WHO’s standard. Residents are really concerned about this environmental catastrophe because they are now dealing with heavy pollution.

Luxury Flats Surrounded by Smog: A Stark Reminder

In the midst of this crisis, residents of Gurugram have shared chilling images of luxury flats, particularly those worth over 100 crore, completely obscured by smog. The smog was so dense that these expensive properties were nearly invisible from a distance, drawing attention to the harsh reality of air pollution.

A user on X (formerly Twitter) pointed out, “Can you see the 100 cr flats? Pollution is a social equaliser.” This remark highlights the fact that no matter the wealth, the air quality crisis affects everyone.

Commentary on the Absurdity of Wealth Amidst Pollution

Manu Joseph, another user, shared a picture of Camillias, a high-priced luxury building in Gurugram, and remarked, “The building in the smog is Camillias in Gurgaon, where air quality is officially poison. The flats cost 60 to 100 crore. There is something funny about that though I can’t put my finger on what exactly.”

Another user humorously joined the discussion, asking, “What is the AQI in those 100 crore flats? Can be a new selling proposition.” This comment mocks the absurdity of expensive properties being surrounded by such unhealthy conditions.
