On October 31, Sharjah’s Ruler, Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, issued an Emiri Decree appointing Ahmed Ibrahim Hassan Al Meel as Chairman of the Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD). Al Meel, previously the Director of SSSD, will now hold the title of “Chairman of Department” under Sharjah’s Special Jobs System.

Expanded Role in Sharjah’s Social Sector

This appointment reflects the Ruler’s vision for strengthening the Social Services Department’s influence and effectiveness across Sharjah. As Chairman, Al Meel will also join the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), allowing for a more integrated approach to social welfare initiatives in the emirate.

Commitment to Community Development

The Decree underscores Sharjah’s commitment to enhancing social services and community support under Al Meel’s leadership. With his extensive background in the department, Al Meel is expected to drive forward policies that align with the emirate’s goals for social welfare and community engagement.

Elevating Social Welfare in Sharjah

The promotion of Al Meel to Chairman comes as Sharjah aims to broaden its social service offerings, ensuring that vulnerable populations receive the highest standard of care and support. As a Member of the SEC, Al Meel’s involvement will further the emirate’s objectives for cohesive social policies and impactful programs.
