Four Kanwariyas Killed After Being Struck by Vehicle in Banka District in Bihar

At least four Kanwariyas lost their lives, and several others sustained injuries after a vehicle struck them on Friday night in Bihar’s Banka district, according to the police. The group of Kanwariyas had been traveling to the Jast Gaur Nath Mahadev temple, having collected Ganga water from Sultanganj.

Injuries and Hospitalization

The injured were immediately taken to a hospital for treatment, as confirmed by the police. Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Bipin Bihari explained, “Some Kanwariyas were hit by a vehicle…4 people have died. There was some law & order situation initially but the situation is normal. Police are present at the spot…”

Villagers React

Following the accident, some angry villagers set a police vehicle on fire. Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Avinash Kumar, who arrived at the scene, stated, “We immediately reached the spot… Around 10-11 people have been injured in the incident and are undergoing treatment… 4 people have died. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem. The situation is peaceful and the administration is cooperating fully… We will investigate the incident …”

Separate Tragedy in Uttar Pradesh

In a separate incident, two people lost their lives and 20 others were injured when a private bus veered off the road and fell into a ravine on the Balrampur road in UP’s Siddharthnagar district. The bus was returning from a religious site, and the victims were residents of Mahankola village in the Shohratgarh tehsil.
