Rahul Gandhi Visits Tiled House In Uchgaon Upon Arriving In Kolhapur – Who Did He Meet?

Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, is on a visit to Kolhapur today. He is scheduled to unveil a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Rahul Gandhi arrived at Kolhapur airport this morning, where Congress State President Nana Patole and other leaders welcomed him. Without stopping at any hotel, Rahul Gandhi headed straight to a tiled house in Uchgaon, where he enjoyed a homemade meal before proceeding to his scheduled event.

Rahul Gandhi visited the home of Ajit Tukaram Sandhe in Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Chowk, Uchgaon. He spent around half an hour interacting with the Sandhe family, who warmly hosted him with homemade breakfast. Ajit Sandhe is a tempo driver from a humble, lower-income family residing in Uchgaon. Speaking about this visit, Congress MLA Vishwajit Kadam stated that it is part of the Gandhi family’s tradition to connect with the poor and common people, sharing their joys and sorrows. Rahul Gandhi is continuing this legacy, coming to understand the lives of the less fortunate through such interactions.

Kadam further added that, just as Pandit Nehru, Indira Gandhi, and Rajiv Gandhi used to visit poor households to understand their daily struggles after the independence movement, Rahul Gandhi is following in their footsteps. He dined with this poor family, savoring their simple meal, showcasing his nature and his efforts to win the hearts of ordinary people.

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi was originally scheduled to arrive in Kolhapur on Friday for a two-day visit. His special flight was supposed to land at 6:20 PM, but the trip was postponed due to a technical issue with the aircraft. He arrived in Kolhapur today, Saturday, and unveiled the life-size statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Kasba Bawda. This visit is seen as significant for the Mahavikas Aghadi alliance ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.
