MBA Student Turns Coldplay Ticket Thread Into Job Hunt

Britain’s Coldplay is returning to India after nine years. This time, the trio has planned three high-energy shows in India on January 2025. And when tickets were open for sale on BookMyShow September 22, fans lined up to reserve their entry and join the virtual queue. Many fans took to social media to share their experience, saying how much more people were ahead of them in the line. While all this drama was unfolding, there was an MBA student who used this Grapevine thread-not to negotiate tickets but to solicit job recommendations from people. His bold move paid off as he walked away with a few leads.

“Hustle Max Pro: So a student got into a thread about the Coldplay ticket and asked everyone who was working for referrals, even managed to get a few through,” Saumil Tripathi posted on X (formerly Twitter), sharing a screenshot:.

The screenshot is of a discussion on Grapevine, where people were discussing the ticketing issue. The MBA student has replied and written, “Hi, could you please give me a referral for a fresher’s role? I am doing my MBA in finance.”

A guy from Razorpay responds to that saying, “Asking referral even in the Coldplay queue. This is the coldest of emails I have ever seen.”.

The student returned a one-liner: “I’m in a queue too, to get selected by a good company. You are from Razorpay. I think you should give me a referral too.” A representative from Razorpay asked for a direct message.

Take a lot at the Post:

Coldplay to perform in Mumbai on January 18, 19 and 21 at DY Patil Stadium. All three events are sold out, but you could still catch the ride with Infinity Tickets, priced at ₹2,000 per ticket- two tickets allowed for every user. Infinity Tickets will be available on BookMyShow at 12 pm on November 22.

For every event Coldplay will perform at, some Infinity Tickets will be available so fans can enjoy the Music Of The Spheres World Tour at a price that’s literally super low. Couples are also required, priced like a ticket sold for £20 / $20 / €20. Tickets are drawn randomly anywhere in the venue-from the back row to the floor to the best seat in the house,” Coldplay shared on its website.
