North Carolina Gubernatorial Candidate Mark Robinson Denies Controversial Past Remarks

According to a media report, North Carolina’s Republican gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson allegedly referred to himself as a “Black Nazi,” insulted Martin Luther King Jr., used antisemitic and homophobic slurs, and praised slavery in comments made on a pornographic website prior to his political career. The investigation links Robinson to a user named ‘minisoldr,’ who posted these inflammatory remarks.

Robinson, North Carolina’s lieutenant governor, denied the allegations and called them “tabloid trash”. He said “This is not us. These are not our words. And this is not anything that is characteristic of me.”

The comments, which date back to between 2008 and 2012, were posted on a pornographic website.

Most controversial remark

Among the most controversial remarks attributed to Mark Robinson under the username ‘minisoldr’ were statements endorsing the reinstatement of slavery and Nazi ideology. One post stated, “Slavery is not bad. Some people need to be slaves,” while another declared, “I’m a black NAZI!” Additionally, Robinson reportedly expressed a preference for Adolf Hitler over U.S. leadership during the Obama administration.

Robinson also allegedly referred to Martin Luther King Jr as a “f***ing commie b***ard” and suggested that if he were in the Ku Klux Klan, he would have called King “Martin Lucifer Koon.”

Robinson denied the allegations in a video shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account, asserting that the remarks were not his. He suggested that his Democratic opponent, Attorney General Josh Stein, was behind the leak to media. In an interview with the network, Robinson dismissed any connection to the comments, stating, “I’m not going to get into the minutia of how somebody manufactured this, these salacious tabloid lies.”

However, media reports identified Robinson as ‘minisoldr’ through his email address, biographical references, and unique phrases he has used on various platforms. Reports indicate that Robinson has used the ‘minisoldr’ username on multiple websites.

Despite the controversy, Robinson remains resolute, stating, “We are not getting out of this race. There are people who are counting on us to win this race.” Endorsed by Trump, Robinson is currently trailing in the polls against his Democratic opponent, Josh Stein. If elected, he would become North Carolina’s first Black governor.

When asked about the report, Karoline Leavitt, a spokesperson for Trump’s campaign, commented, “President Trump’s campaign is focused on winning the White House and saving this country.”
