Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni was recently seen in the USA having a tour with close friends. MS Dhoni was last seen during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 where CSK was defeated by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Despite this, he hasn’t yet confirmed his participation for the next season of IPL.

Dhoni was caught on camera during this period seeing an American football match in Michigan. His friend, Hitesh Sanghvi, posted a video collage of his trip on Instagram. In the collage they are seen together in the stadium for the football match. The posting reads, “Fun trip to Michigan for American football and back…….with these amazing people.”

Speculations are rife whether Dhoni will play as an uncapped player in IPL 2025. BCCI is likely to discuss and deliberate on giving such status to retired international players. “I will decide according to that,” Dhoni said, expecting the new norms to be firmed up soon. “There is a lot of time for it.”. We have to see what decision they take on player retention etc. Right now, the ball is not in our court. So, once the rules and regulations get formalized, I will take a call, but needs to be in the best interest of the team, Dhoni said at a promotional event in Hyderabad earlier in August.

The new retention policy will be announced by BCCI, and it is expected to last until the end of the month. Franchise owners wait with bated breath as to what the new policy would entail.
