Elon Musk Set To Be The World’s First Trillionaire By 2027, New Report Reveals

Elon Musk is on track to become the world’s first trillionaire by 2027, according to a recent report from Informa Connect Academy. The report highlights that Musk’s wealth has been growing at an impressive annual rate of 110%. Currently, Musk’s net worth stands at $251 billion, making him the world’s richest person as per the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

The analysis suggests that Gautam Adani, the Indian business magnate, could also achieve trillionaire status, with a projected timeline of 2028, provided his annual growth rate continues at 123%. Additionally, Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, and Prajogo Pangestu, an Indonesian energy and mining tycoon, could reach trillionaire status by 2028 if their financial trajectories remain consistent. Bernard Arnault, the head of LVMH, and Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, are expected to join the trillionaire ranks by 2030.

Several companies have already surpassed a $1 trillion valuation. Notably, Berkshire Hathaway achieved this milestone in late August, just before Warren Buffett’s 94th birthday. Nvidia joined the $1 trillion club in May 2023 and hit $3 trillion in June, making it the second-most-valuable company globally at the time, behind Microsoft but ahead of Apple.

Despite the public’s fascination with the prospect of a trillionaire, many academics view the concentration of such immense wealth as problematic. One report noted that the wealthiest 1% of people contribute more carbon emissions, a key driver of climate change, than the poorest 66%.

Recently, Elon Musk faced controversy over a post on X (formerly Twitter). Musk shared a post endorsing an interview featuring former Fox News host Tucker Carlson and podcaster Darryl Cooper, which downplayed the Holocaust. The interview was criticized as a “disgusting and sadistic insult” by the White House. Musk later deleted the post. Additionally, Musk has publicly supported Donald Trump for the upcoming presidential election, where Kamala Harris, the Democratic vice-president, is also a contender.
